General Rifle Cleaning
Strongly suggested by both new shooters and the old gents of the Military Rifle Clubs, G96 Gun Treatment is perfect for cleaning bores & actions whilst at the same time giving the best protection possible against corrosion, rust, silicon from human touching, etc. Even if you get in from a shoot, then spray this down the bore and leave in the safe for a couple of days until you have the time to clean your rifle properly. This is a great - 'one item, does most jobs', type treatment.
Bore Cleaning
It is best to use a high quality (bearing) cleaning rod such as the well known J. DEWEY MFG. CO. INC. rods. You must first lubricate the bore and first clean with a nylon brush and then finish with a brass Jag with cotton swabs to run through the bore until clean. The use of a bore guide can also be effective to minimize any scoring of the metalwork.
